　　时间跨入2007，这一年，在中国，出现了大大小小上千家GPS厂商，在GPS的上游供应链中，GPS最为关键的GPS芯片厂商也是风风火火的跟进，GPS市场的异军突起令到原有的GPS厂商或是ARM厂商/手机芯片制造商一路跟进，不仅进行价格的血拼，在性能/体积/功耗上也有极大的长进，GPS领域的使用也逐渐的从理论研究到试探性应用一直到即将到来的GPS市场广泛型应用，这是一个非常大的跨越，可以预见，在中国乃到全世界，在近期，即将掀起一番GPS的应用狂潮。

　　GPS最主要的上游链应用端厂商主要是GPS芯片，也是关系到整个GPS产品的战略性发展的第一步，没有好的GPS芯片，是不可能有好的GPS模块及成品，GPS芯片的实力，不仅代表了一家公司的GPS产业水平，更是整个国家的GPS产业发展浓缩，仅管我们目前受到美国GPS卫星的制约，但随着欧洲伽俐略更高精度及功能更强大的民用GPS的发展，中国政府在伽俐略定位系统的介入，我们更看好2011年的伽俐略导航市场。

　　以下为全球GPS芯片主要厂商及新兴入门级别厂商：

　　美国SiRF科技成立于1995年，主要销售方式以销售GPS芯片为主，由第三方厂商用SIRF芯片来开发及生产销售GPS模块

　　瑞士u-blox成立于1997年，，主要销售方式以销售GPS芯片及GPS模块为主

　　其中TI/联发科均是新型的GPS领域的入门者

　　但目前全球主要GPS芯片市场以SIRF及u-blox公司的芯片组为主：

　　基本上，整个市场的芯片组出货量是以SIRF与u-blox公司为主要供应商，在综合性能及市场占有率方面均要比其他品牌要占一些优势。

　　可以说，现在的全球GPS芯片组的较量，主要还是u-blox同SIRF公司的较量，其他公司在目前的表现情况来看还不足以有致命的杀伤力，想要表现一番，还有很长的路要走，主要原因是u-blox及SIRF公司占据了全球GPS行业太多的专利，导致其他公司难以跨越专业的门槛直接竟争。

　　但对于不同的领域，不同的产品线，各家的市场占有率又各有差异.
